Hilo is the second largest municipality in the State of Hawai’i, but you won’t think of it as a city…we have the somewhat sleepy attitude of an old-time Hawaiian working-class town in a lush tropical setting. It makes our west side cousin, Kailua-Kona, seem like a desert isle. Maybe it’s the rain. Definitely, it’s the rain. Learn to love it! It is what makes us what we are, nourishing a green paradise on our rocky shores, scenting the incredibly fresh air with the fragrance of a thousand flowers at once.
