Welcome to Hilo!

Hilo is the second largest municipality in the State of Hawai’i, but you won’t think of it as a city…we have the somewhat sleepy attitude of an old-time Hawaiian working-class town in a lush tropical setting. It makes our west side cousin, Kailua-Kona, seem like a desert isle. Maybe it’s the rain. Definitely, it’s the rain. Learn to love it! It is what makes us what we are, nourishing a green paradise on our rocky shores, scenting the incredibly fresh air with the fragrance of a thousand flowers at once.

Once you’ve visited Hilo and experienced our aloha for yourself, you will come back time and again to one of the friendliest place in all Hawai’i.

As you surf this site, you will find more about what makes us a unique place to visit and to live. Take your time, enjoy your stay!
